Cvent Hospitality Cloud: The Cvent Hospitality Cloud™ is an enterprise software solution that enables hotels to generate more profitable transient and group business.

Cvent Passkey: Part of the Cvent Hospitality Cloud – Passkey enables hotels and CVBs to streamline and automate meeting and event bookings while creating upsell revenues from group guests, who gain a simpler way to make and manage their hotel reservations. Learn more about Cvent Passkey.

Reservation: The term “Reservation” indicates a confirmed reservation for housing. A reservation in Cvent Passkey will always be associated with a Cvent Passkey Acknowledgement Number and will maintain a status – New, Modified, Cancelled, Waitlisted, etc. Learn more about Reservation Status definitions.

Acknowledgment Number: A Cvent Passkey “Acknowledgement Number” or “Ack”, is a unique identifier for a reservation in Cvent Passkey and is most similar to a reservation “confirmation number” assigned by most hotels reservation systems. Only one Acknowledgement Number is associated with each reservation irrespective of the number of guests included.

ReservationRequest/Bridge Record: Attendee information which can be used to create a reservation. Each ReservationRequest is assigned a unique ID. A ReservationRequest may contain some or all data elements needed to create a reservation within the Cvent Passkey system depending upon the type of RegLink integration being utilized.

ReservationRequest ID/Bridge ID: A unique ID associated with an Attendee information sent to Cvent Passkey by a third party application using the RegLink OpenAPI. This identifies a unique Bridge Record.

Attendee Website: Attendee Website refers to the attendee-facing web booking engine component of Cvent Passkey which customers may customize per Passkey event. RegLink Basic integrations utilize attendee-specific URLs to direct attendees to the Cvent Passkey booking site for the event where the attendee completes his/her housing reservation.

Callbacks: Or WebHooks are an optional component of the RegLink API suite and allows Cvent Passkey to send an HTTP POST to a configurable and parameterized URL exposed by a third-party application. Passkey Callbacks may be implemented to indicate when a reservation is created, modified, or cancelled within the Passkey system. This can allow the receiving application to execute additional business logic or API calls based upon real-time reservation activity within Cvent Passkey.

Several terms are used including attendee information (“ReservationRequest/Bridge Record”) and reservation. As noted above, attendee information refers to the details captured by the third-party system which can then be used to create a reservation.

By providing attendee information, Cvent Passkey can insert this data into the booking process and significantly enhance the user experience. Once a hotel booking is completed, a reservation is created in Cvent Passkey. It is important to note that changes to the attendee information after a reservation is completed are not reflected within the reservation. Reservation changes must be made through a modify reservation URL-based API call or a supported web service API call, which are covered later in this guide.
