Supported Encryption Ciphers and Protocols

General

On May 15, 2018, Cvent will be disabling encryption ciphers and protocols across our product platforms that are no longer considered secure by the U.S. National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). As a result, the following ciphers and protocols will no longer be supported for integrations with Cvent APIs:

  • Triple DES (“3DES”)
  • Secure Sockets Layer (SSL)
  • Transport Layer Security (TLS) versions 1.0 and 1.1

To confirm whether you’re using TLS 1.2, please test your connection using this endpoint: https://validate-api.cvent.com

If your integration is not updated by May 15th, you can point it to the following temporary endpoint for up to six more weeks: legacy-api.cvent.com. (If you’re storing or caching our SSL certificate locally, it will need to be updated when you switch to this temporary endpoint.)

Please note that you will still need to update your integrations to TLS 1.2 and point back to the standard api.cvent.com endpoint no later than June 30th, 2018.
