Overview
Purge settings let you automatically delete old data from your Salesforce App and manage your data storage. You can Purge Events and Logs. This article describes both processes, and how to configure them.
Purging Events
Event records tie attendees together and serve as useful historical tools. You may have no need for event records after a certain point, in which case you can have them deleted.
Purging Logs
The App generates Logs that help confirm tasks completed successfully or check errors when they occur. By default, these logs stay in your Salesforce forever. After a certain point, though, they lose their usefulness and you can delete them.
Configuring Purge Settings
-
Go to Cvent Admin and navigate to the Configuration tab.
-
Under Purge Criteria heading, find Cvent Events or Cvent Logs. For events, decide if you want to purge events from Salesforce daily. If you do, determine what kind of events to purge (completed, canceled, deleted, or archived events). For logs, decide if you want to purge logs from Salesforce. If you do, you can determine how old a log must become before purging. The period defaults to 90 days.
-
Click Save.

Notes:
- When an event purges, it also removes corresponding Attendees and Attendee Temp Records.
- You can also choose to manually delete the events or logs by clicking the Purge Now links in the corresponding section.
